Steven Muhammad is a native of Ohio. Born in 1967, he has always had a desire to see the condition of Black people improved to what God intended it to be.
In 1992, Steven Muhammad worked for ANIA Comics, an independent comic book company. He drew and co-plotted the first comic to be released by ANIA Comics called Ebony Warrior. Because ANIA was one of the first independent, Black-owned comic book companies, and Ebony Warrior was the first book released, it was featured in USA Today.
In 1997, Steven Muhammad founded the non-profit 501c3 organization Knowledge for LIFE.
